This linkage is made for the Weber 48IDA, and Empi EPC48 and 51 series carburetors. It is not a “universal” linkage! It will work with most offset standard “tall” manifolds. We do not recommend using the thick “carb isolators” with this linkage as the added height may cause the operating rods to hit the underside of the alternator/generator stand. (NOT applicable to the “reversed” short Empi manifolds. Please see part # 15-0210 for those.)
Each carb shaft operating lever is made specifically for the Weber IDA series carbs. No “universal” levers are used. The levers are precision laser cut, have welded in hardened steel stop pins, and are zinc plated.
A sturdy “behind the alternator” base plate is included. Special “drop through” mounting nuts are included so that there is no need to remove or lengthen the alternator stand studs. The base plate also serves as a mounting point for a return spring. The feel and return of the throttle action can be fine tuned by using either the supplied heavy duty spring, or a stock VW Solex spring (for a lighter feel.)
A hardened dowel pin is securely pressed into place on the aluminum bellcrank block to give you a starting point for installation.
Linkage rods are solid T6 aluminum. Since the ends are tapped for right and left hand threads, all that is required for adjustment is to twist the shaft to lengthen or shorten.
